On July 2007, the meeting of several professional skills and experiences in the energy industry, proceeding from University, Research, Business and Credit areas, gave birth to SIES, aiming to become an “Excellent Point” for research and promotion of energy production from renewable (RET) and traditional sources technologies.
Developing a spread energy framework through the region by means of structural interventions on the power engineering and production systems. In this perspective SIES cooperates with many local stakeholders, in order to:
- Achieve a fair remunerability for RETs, by setting up new techniques to manage the renewable energy distribution network and by developing innovative technologies to improve production performances and to cut down costs;
- Get an effective market access to enable the best exploitation of local resources and the establishement of energy industries enhancing the Sardinian power system.
- Help investors to easily access credit and through cooperation policies driving to the development of RETs in Sardinia.
EnergySource hosted the unveiling of its 49.9 Hudson Ranch I geothermal plant, now renamed John L. Featherstone Plant – a geothermal innovator in the Salton Sea area, today in Imperial Valley, California. Commissioned on March 9th, it is the first geothermal plant to go online in the Salton Sea area in 20 years.
